Year 12 Formal

Held on Saturday 25th February, the highly anticipated Year 12 Senior Formal took place at the Links Hope Island and was nothing short of enchanted.

As the students arrived on the red carpet, they were greeted with an uproar of cheers and excitement from their friends and family, who had gathered to watch the grand arrivals. The students looked stunning in their formal attire, with the girls dressed in gorgeous gowns, and the boys in elegant suits.

The event kicked off with students individually greeting the College Principal, Ms Joanne Sheehy, before entering the enchanted ballroom. The venue was beautifully transformed into a mystical wonderland, with the walls adorned with greenery, woodland foliage, sparkling trees, and a star-covered ceiling. Gasps of amazement filled the room as the students took their seats and marveled at the stunning decor. Each student received their famous Formal cookie, which added a sweet touch to an already magical night.

After the evening was officially opened by College Captain, Naie-Rae Fenton, delicious entrees were served, and the students hit the dance floor. The DJ played a mix of popular tunes, keeping the Year 12 students singing and dancing all night long. A standout of the evening was the Formal Dance, which Emily Moretti expertly choreographed to the song “Wildest Dreams” from Bridgerton. The students were awestruck by the incredible performances of their peers and enjoyed the bonding that this encouraged.

Throughout the night, students captured memories of this unforgettable event at the photo booth, taking silly photos with friends and props that fit the theme—the evening concluded with the entire cohort singing a rendition of “Good Old Days”, a perfect end to a night that they will cherish forever.

As the night came to an end, the students left the ballroom feeling enchanted and exhilarated. They enjoyed a magical evening filled with laughter, dancing, and fun. The Year 12 Senior Formal was an event that the students will treasure for the rest of their lives, and it was a fitting start to their final year in their Senior Schooling journey.

The Formal Committee, led by Abbie Briant and Ava Young, worked tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure the success of the event. Emily Moretti and Vipasha Rajkumar were also acknowledged for their commitment and perseverance in teaching the students the Formal Dance.

Congratulations to the Year 12 cohort for an unforgettable night filled with enchantment, laughter, and lasting memories. The 2023 Senior Formal was a fitting tribute to their hard work and dedication, and a testament to their strength as a graduating class.
