Our Year 12 Business Industry Breakfast brought students and professionals together for real conversations and real opportunities.
From peer discussions to mentor guidance, this event gave Year 12 students a glimpse into the professional world-and a spark for their future.
College Captain, Nevindu Dammanagoda reflects on the invaluable insights, connections, and confidence gained at this year’s Business Industry Breakfast.
Today we had the 2025 A.B. Paterson College Business Industry Breakfast and that was an amazing opportunity for our Grade 12 cohort to meet the industry leaders and professionals. They taught us a little bit about what our careers might entail and that different pathways and opportunities that we have access to post school. Yes, we had an amazing guest panel today. We had plenty of guest speakers and panellists who told us all about their career pathways and the different routes that they have taken to achieve success and what success means to them in their own sort of definition. I think we really got the chance to appreciate the people that we are not only connecting with as mentors but also our peers and our students as, our network going into the future and how that’s going to not only shape our future careers but also our relationships and our lives moving forward. I think having such a great importance here at A.B. on the community that we foster is really important towards, not only building the culture of each of our students, but ensuring that we stay connected beyond, as Old Collegians as well. I think one of the most important messages that I received was to embrace change but also seek out your passions whether that may not be something that you fall into immediately but something that you will definitely find later on throughout your career progression pathways.
