Lions Youth of the Year Program

Chloe Ward & Emelia Wedemeyer

With a proud history spanning over 60 years, the Lions Youth of the Year program continues to foster leadership, public speaking, and community-mindedness in senior high school students across Australia.

The program challenges students through interviews, impromptu questions, and a prepared 4–5 minute speech - shining a spotlight on those who contribute to their schools, communities, and cultural life.

This year, we congratulate Tiantian Shen, Matilda Grant, Emelia Wedemeyer, and Charlie Price-Wigg for representing the College at various club events.

A special congratulations to Emelia, who progressed through the club, zone, and district rounds to reach the state final! She was praised by judges for her enthusiasm and dignity, delivering a memorable speech on “that awkward moment when you are wrong".

Emelia is pictured above with 2024 College Vice-Captain, Chloe Ward who won the Lions Youth of the Year Region 2 Final last year.

We are incredibly proud of all participants and the way they represented themselves and our community.
