Griffith Uni Presentation to Year 11 Business Students

This week, Year 11 Business students had the exciting opportunity to engage with an A.B. Paterson College alumni graduate and hear of the exciting opportunities he has experienced in the years after graduating. Jake Lawrence (2021 graduate) is a current Griffith University student studying Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and Bachelor of Business (Finance Major).

Jake recently built a team to compete at the Global Case Competition at Harvard University. Jake and his team presented the case that focused on Ferrari and whether they should acquire Pirelli. Their presentation was so well received that they were named as the Top 10 presentations in the Global Case Competition!

Jake spoke to the class about his passion for business being ignited in the A.B. Paterson College business classroom, specifically in Year 10 when his group won the $20 Boss activity. The class got to hear Jake’s best tips and advice for when they go to university, how to make the most of the opportunities given to them and to travel the world!

Jake was accompanied by Associate Professor Dr Alexandr Akimov, a current College parent and mentor for Jake. Our class met Dr Akimov during our last excursion to Griffith University, and our students enjoyed reconnecting with him.

We would like to sincerely thank both Jake and Dr Akimov for taking the time to present to the class this week and we look forward to hearing what other exciting experiences are out there for A. B. Paterson College alumni!
