Year 10 Winton Semi-Formal - Another Successful Year

Jul 23, 2026 8:16 AM

On Saturday, our Year 10 students enjoyed another unforgettable Semi-Formal in Winton, with Barty's Place transformed into a glamorous Hollywood-inspired venue for the evening.

While the event itself lasted one night, the planning began much earlier. The Semi-Formal Committee was selected and formed in Term 4 last year, with students dedicating countless lunchtimes over the past several months to planning and curating every detail of the event. The committee brainstormed a range of theme ideas before creating a survey for the Year 10 cohort, allowing students to vote on their favourite. Once Hollywood was chosen, the committee worked together to select decorations, assist with ordering supplies, plan the table settings, organise the running of the evening, and curate the music that set the perfect atmosphere.

Yesterday, the teamwork continued as students rolled up their sleeves to prepare Barty's Place, helping to clean, move tables, decorate the venue, and set everything up before the celebrations began. Their hard work and enthusiasm transformed the space into a stunning setting for a night to remember. One of the highlights of the evening was a surprise live acoustic performance by Mr Ben Crellin, whose music added a special touch to the celebrations and was thoroughly enjoyed by students and staff.

A huge thank you to our incredible Semi-Formal Committee for their dedication, creativity and commitment throughout the planning process:

Constance Huang, Grace Cridland, Jinyu Yan, Catey Brookes, Patricia Kolarich, Olive Pullin, Lucy Niebling, Charlotte Beattie, Reetliv Rayar, Georgina Game, Tiger Nicholls, Lana Francesconi, Zainab Junaid, Aaleen Ali, Ella Rho and Sofie Martincova.

I would also like to extend a sincere thanks to the staff who generously gave their time to support the event, from setting up the venue to supervising on the night. Their willingness to help ensured the evening ran seamlessly and created a wonderful experience for students.

A heartfelt thank you to Tom Lee, Jake Turner, Sara Eade, Lana Milton, Ben Crellin, Kate Jacobs, Lauren Brake, Peter Brookes, Terri Wagstaff, Tim Grosser, Beau Williams, Jayde Hartfiel, and the Kangaroo Bus Lines team for your support and commitment.

Congratulations to everyone who contributed to another highly successful Year 10 Semi-Formal. It was a fantastic celebration a wonderful reflection of what can be achieved by our students and staff.
