Queensland All Schools Touch Football Championships

Oct 19, 2026 9:03 AM

Our Brumbies Touch teams were put to the ultimate test at the Queensland All Schools Touch Football Championships held at Runaway Bay last week. Competing in the world’s largest school-based touch football tournament against some of the strongest school teams in Queensland, our players experienced the intensity, skill, and excitement of high-level competition.

A special congratulations goes to our 18 Mixed team, who achieved a historic result for the College, finishing among the Top 18 teams in Queensland, the highest-ever placing by an AB team in the 18 Mixed division. After an outstanding pool phase that saw them finish 2nd in their pool, the team progressed to the drop-off rounds with a chance to qualify for the Top 16.

In a thrilling display of determination and resilience, the team entered the high-pressure drop-off format, where only four players take the field in a fast-paced two minute battle for victory. They produced an incredible upset win over a higher-ranked opponent in their first drop-off match before returning to the field moments later and narrowly missing another victory in the final plays. It was a remarkable effort that showcased the grit, composure, and fighting spirit of the Brumbies.

This tournament also marked the final All Schools Championships for our Year 12 players. Their contribution to Brumbies Touch Football has been invaluable, with their leadership, commitment, and passion helping to shape the program and inspire younger players. Over their years in Brumbies colours, they have set a wonderful example both on and off the field, and we thank them for the legacy they leave behind.
