Vicki Wilson Netball Championships

It was great to see our A.B. Brumbies taking to the court at the annual Vicki Wilson Netball Championships as part of the North South Coast region held at Pimpama Sports Hub on Monday 13 May.

In a remarkable display of skill and dedication, our Open A netball team showcased their prowess at the Vicki Wilson Netball Competition. Winning three out of four games in their pool, they secured a spot in the finals, a testament to their hard work and commitment. Though the finals did not end in victory, the team's perseverance shines brightly. Special recognition goes to Isabella Karabouloukis whose exceptional defence was instrumental in turnovers and securing crucial goals. Their success speaks volumes about the early morning gym sessions and extra training they have put in since October. We cannot wait to see what they achieve in their final two games of the APS season.

The Year 7-9 Vicki Wilson Shield Team exhibited commendable performances during the regional rounds of the Vicki Wilson competition. Securing victories in their initial encounters against Assisi and Helensvale, each by a margin of two goals, marked a promising start to their day. Demonstrating exemplary teamwork and resilience, the team navigated through a rigorous schedule of eight matches, progressively refining their gameplay as the day went on. A special shoutout to Ella Rho in Year 8, whose exceptional defensive prowess as GK stood out prominently throughout the day.

The collective achievements of our Vicki Wilson Shield Team reflect not only their individual skill but also their dedication to representing the college with pride. Their performance serves as a testament to their commitment to excellence and sets a high standard for future endeavours.

A big thank you to Mrs Kiana Sloane, Miss Annie Lawrie and Jodie Ffewkes for coaching our teams and supporting them throughout the carnival. Huge shoutout to all our parents who came out to support the girls, your unwavering support of the A.B> Netball program does not go unnoticed.
