Swimming Club Athletes Shine at QLD Open Water Championships

The Queensland Open Water Championships were held on Saturday, 25 October, in Coolum on the Sunshine Coast.

Several A.B. Paterson College Swimming Club athletes either competed for the first time at this event or stepped up to a new distance.

  • Mackenzie Crocker delivered an exceptional performance in his first-ever 7.5km race, earning the silver medal in the 15-year-old category and placing 4th overall across all ages.
  • Alex Mair completed her debut 5km event, finishing 10th in the 13 & Under age group.
  • Bonnie Cross raced her first open water event, placing 14th in the 12-year-old category.
  • Toby Zhang produced a strong swim to finish 6th in the 14-year-old 2.5km event.
  • Zoe Ball and Ivy Sun competed in the 2.5km event, finishing 5th and 13th respectively.

Congratulations to all swimmers on their efforts and achievements at this year’s Championships.
