Metaverse Cocurricular Clubs Kick Off for 2026!
We are excited to share that our Metaverse Cocurricular Clubs have launched for the year, and our Junior School students have already dived into a wonderful mix of creativity, collaboration and future‑focused learning. Across the week, students from Years 1–6 are exploring digital technologies in hands‑on, highly engaging way whilst building skills in teamwork, communication, problem‑solving and digital literacy.
Below is a snapshot of what is happening across our Metaverse Cocurricular Clubs this term.
eSports: The Fuse Cup (Years 5–6)
Monday Lunchtime, Thursday Morning Tea and Friday Morning Tea
Our upper Junior School students have been training hard as part of our Years 5–6 Fuse Cup eSports team. Playing Rocket League in small teams, students are practising strategic thinking, communication and sportsmanship in a safe, structured and supportive environment.
We are thrilled to share that students will also be attending a Fuse Cup competition later this term, where they will represent the College and put their skills to the test against other teams. This is a wonderful opportunity for students to build confidence, collaborate with peers, and experience the excitement of competitive eSports.

Sumo Robotics (Years 4–6)
Wednesday Lunchtime
Sumo Robotics is off to a strong start, with students designing, building and coding robots using LEGO Spike Prime kits. Working in teams of four, students are learning to iterate on their robot designs, test code, troubleshoot challenges and prepare for robot “battles” in our Sumo ring.
This club gives students a fantastic introduction to engineering principles and computational thinking, all while having a lot of fun.

Techies Club (Years 1–3)
Thursday Lunchtime
Our youngest learners have shown incredible curiosity and enthusiasm in Techies Club. This term, students have been:
- Flying drones and learning about safe flight paths
- Creating animations using Scratch Jr
- Exploring coding fundamentals through Indi robots
These early digital learning experiences build foundational skills in logic, creativity and spatial awareness, which are all essential stepping stones toward confident technology use in later years.

Minecraft Education Club (Years 3–5)
Friday Lunchtime
Students in Years 3–5 have joined our Minecraft Education Club, where they are working together to create worlds and builds inspired by Aboriginal culture. This club blends digital creativity with cultural understanding, encouraging students to collaborate, research and represent ideas respectfully within the Minecraft environment.
It has been energising to see students so engaged in their learning and eager to explore new technologies. These clubs offer meaningful opportunities for students to develop communication, creativity, critical thinking and resilience, which are skills that are central to thriving in an ever‑changing world.
We look forward to sharing updates throughout the year, especially as our eSports team prepares for their upcoming competition. Thank you for supporting your children in their digital learning journeys. We cannot wait to see what they create next!
