H.E.A.R.T. Tour 2023

Seventy college students had the experience of a lifetime on the 2023 H.E.A.R.T (Humanities, English, Arts, Renaissance, and Theatre) Tour. The first country they was beautiful Italy, and it appears that the students had a fantastic time exploring the sights of Rome, such as Collosseum and the Trevi Foundain, savoring the food - pizza and gelati,  exploring the Spanish steps and visiting the Vatican, and immersing themselves in the country's rich history!

The tour then visited the beautiful city of Berlin and had a wonderful time exploring the sights on a 2.5 hour bike ride and taking full advantage of its history.

In London students had a wonderful couple of days exploring the city, starting with the Greenwich Markets, followed by a walk to the Shakespeare Globe Theatre. The experience was surreal and a lot of our students walked away with an understanding of Shakespeare's original settings. A tour of Westminster Abby and University of Oxford, as well as some locations from the Harry Potter films. They then made their way to the Tower of London, and as a cherry on top of a spectacular day went to the Cambridge Theatre London West End and watched the multi-award winning musical Matilda The Musical!

The group then caught the Eurostar to head into Paris for the Easter long weekend. A visit first to the vast Versailles Palace and the Arc de Triomphe. Shopping on the Champs-Elysees and then a cruise down the Seine which took in the Musee deOrsay and Notre Dame Cathedral. On Easter Sunday, the group traveled by bus visiting different areas of the Battle of the Somme. Students were able to see preserved trenches outside Beaumont-Hamel and the Newfoundland Memorial. Then they visited the Thiepval Memorial to the Missing of the Somme and the Somme Museum. After a dinner in Paris, the students visited the Eiffel Tower which was lit up. The next day they visited the Lourve and enjoyed a threatre workshop. Then it was off to the airport to fly home!
