Choral Excellence Shines at the Gold Coast Eisteddfod
Students of the College’s choral program recently had a wonderful week at the Gold Coast Eisteddfod, with students across Prep to Year 12 achieving an outstanding collection of awards and accolades.
Our secondary choirs delivered remarkable performances, with the Year 7-9 Choir achieving 1st Place (Platinum) and 2nd Place (Gold), the Secondary Musical Showcase earning 1st Place (Gold), the Senior Choir securing 1st Place (Gold), and the Chamber Choir achieving 2nd Place (Gold). The ever-popular Bellas and Fellas were also awarded Gold.
In the primary division, our students continued their tradition of excellence. The Year 3/4 Choir achieved 1st Place (Gold) and 2nd Place (Gold), while the Primary Musical Showcase earned 3rd Place (Gold). The Year 5/6 Choir, as well as the Boys' and Girls' Chorus, both received Gold Awards.
Our classroom ensembles also achieved exceptional results:
- Year 2A/2DS – 1st Place (Gold) & 1st Place (Gold)
- Year 3L/3S – 1st Place (Gold) & 2nd Place (Gold)
- Year 2S/2L – 1st Place (Gold) & 3rd Place (Gold)
- Year 3P/3HK – 2nd Place (Gold) & 2nd Place (Gold)
- Year 1M/1B – 1st Place (Gold)
- Year 1R/1P – 2nd Place (Gold)
- Prep H/Prep G – 2nd Place (Gold)
- Prep M/Prep B – 3rd Place (Gold)
These results are a testament not only to the talent, dedication and enthusiasm of our students, but also to the outstanding leadership of our choral team. We extend our sincere thanks and congratulations to Rachel Newcombe, Nadia MacKenzie, Jonathon Bam, Jonathan Albertini, Madison Sharp and Lexene Marquenie, whose expertise, passion and commitment continue to inspire our young musicians and help them perform at the highest level.
Congratulations to every student and staff member involved in this exceptional achievement. We are incredibly proud of the contribution our choral program continues to make to the vibrant musical life of our College.
