The 2026 Australian Swimming National Age Championships took place over the holidays, with A.B. Paterson College Swimming Club represented by two athletes at the eight-day meet held at the Gold Coast Aquatic Centre.

At her first National Age Championships, Alex Mair delivered an outstanding performance, achieving three top 10 finishes. Her best result came in the 1500m freestyle, where she placed 4th, marking the highest-ever finish by an A.B. Paterson College student at this event. Well done, Alex.

Mackenzie Crocker also impressed, recording top 10 finishes in all three of his races, including two 6th-place results in the 800m and 1500m freestyle events.

A.B. student Zoe Ball also competed, with her highest finish being 10th place in the 400m freestyle.

The swim team is now enjoying some well-deserved downtime before gradually building their training workload in preparation for the next major meet on the calendar—the Queensland State Short Course Championships in August.
