A.B. Paterson College is an independent, non-denominational, co educational school with an enrolment in 2014 of approximately 1400 students from Prep to Year 12. The College offers a world class educational programme designed to challenge students to achieve and to act with purpose and character.
When employing, the College seeks enthusiastic educators and general staff members, who can commit to the Values, Vision and Mission of the school, and are committed to ongoing professional development and to learning, and who also see education as the development of the whole person.
It is expected that applicants will have a genuine commitment to an independent school ethos and to ongoing professional development. A sound knowledge and understanding of national and state educational initiatives is essential, along with computer literacy. All staff participate in the co-curricular life of the College.
As an independent school, the College holds high standards and expectations of its students, and this requires similar attitudes from staff. In developing the ‘whole person’, teachers are required to develop a thinking and supportive classroom environment, and to be fully involved in the co-curricular life of the College. Professional dress is expected.
Current staff members take pride in contributing to the further development of our students and the College, and gain satisfaction from making a difference.
A.B. Paterson College has unique differences from other independent schools and these differences are valued by our staff. In striving to deliver traditional, independent school values and a world class education, our staff are committed to ongoing professional learning, working collaboratively, and supporting students by ‘going the extra mile’ to help each one succeed.
