Welcome to Australian Rules at A.B. Paterson College.

Here at the College, we compete in the APS competition, which features a number of Gold Coast private schools. A.B. Paterson College has five boys’ teams, with the youngest team starting in Year 4, and the oldest team being the Opens team. The College also offers four girls’ teams, with the youngest starting in Year 4 and the oldest being the Year 9 team.

The Australian Rules season at the College begins in Term 3, with pre-season training for the majority of that term being held on Monday afternoons between 3.20 & 5pm. During this time, the students work closely with coaches to develop their skills and game sense, in preparation for the upcoming season.

The pre-season often features visits from Gold Coast Suns’ players, who help out at training and offer expert assistance to players and coaches. Games start for Australian Rules towards the end of Term 3, and are held on Friday afternoons between 12.30 and 3pm.

In the past, the College has enjoyed great success in Australian Rules throughout all age groups and, with the strong development programme in place, the College is looking forward to many future successes.
