Australian Computing Society Digital Futures

On Wednesday 9 November, teachers and a select group of students attended the ACS Queensland Gold Coast Chapter’s Digital Futures evening held at TAFE Queensland, Coomera Campus.

Students heard from a panel of leading women who have found their dream career in the Digital Industry. Understanding what is available as pathways into the ICT industry and how one might forge into a career in the digital world. Game and software developers were present, and our visual arts students were excited by the networking opportunity and conversation with those in the game development industry.

There was also opportunity to get hands on with some of the emerging tech and be immersed in the latest TAFE and industry collaborative projects using VR and AR technologies including HoloLens, showcasing their use cases in training, design and trades and the metaverse.

Here’s to a bright future ahead at A.B. Paterson College as we support a variety of industry pathways for our students.
