A.B. Paterson College seeks applications for the following positions:
Head of English Faculty
Head of Mathematics Faculty
(Commencing Term 1, 2015 or by negotiation)
The successful candidates will be outstanding and dynamic classroom practitioners, and possess proven leadership qualities and experience in the management of a progressive Faculty. Both positions combine leadership and teaching. Experience, particularly in the pursuit of excellence and teaching practice, is essential, together with an up-to-date understanding of State and Federal educational initiatives and the ability to link curriculum from Prep to Year 12.
Candidates will need a strong background in English or Mathematics, and a sound knowledge of the QCAA syllabus in their respective discipline, including senior moderation procedures and current skills in the use of IT and other digital classroom resources.
It is expected that the successful candidate for both these positions will have a genuine commitment to an independent school ethos, including co-curricular activities, and to ongoing professional learning in the pursuit of best practice.
Candidates for both positions must hold, or be eligible to hold, teacher registration with the Queensland College of Teachers.
