Early Childhood Centre Before and After School Care

Before School Care is provided at the Early Childhood Centre from 7am. Children are encouraged to join in with the outdoor activities. These include art/craft, climbing, ball games and literacy activities. The morning session is held in a relaxed atmosphere to ensure children have an easy start to the day. Upon conclusion, the children are escorted to their classrooms by a staff member.

Bookings are not required for this service, however, payment of $11 per day will be billed through the Out Of School Hours Care service.

College Run Before School Supervision

A.B. Paterson College places student safety and care at the forefront of its obligations.

Early morning playground supervisors monitor the grounds from 7:15am until the start of the school day.

Parents please note: the College can not provide student supervision outside these times.

After School Care

ASC is held on the College premises alongside the music rooms. Students are collected from their classrooms and escorted to the ASC facilities.

Prep students who are not picked up by 3.15pm are taken to the After School Care facility with the other school-aged children, and normal after school care charges will apply.

Upon arrival students are provided with a healthy afternoon tea, followed by a series of planned activities. These activities are planned based on the emerging interests of the children. They include regular outdoor physical activities, art/craft activities and cooking.

Each term the children participate in a government funded programme called, “Active After Schools” programme.

Click here to view information on the Active After-School Communities Programme.

Students in Years 7-12 may go to the Collaborative Learning Centre, supervised by a teacher and/or Learning Assistant.  There is no charge for this service at present.

Unless involved in a teacher-supervised after-school practice in sport, music or debating etc., or in a club activity supervised by a paid outside tutor, Senior School students are not permitted to wait unsupervised in the grounds.  If not picked up by 3.45pm (lessons finish for Senior School at 3.20pm), they must attend supervised care as noted above.

Vacation Care

Vacation Care is offered throughout all College breaks, including pupil free days. Regular centre staff plan a series of adventure packed days to stimulate and excite children of all ages. Most Wednesdays, the children will attend an excursion to a location in our local community.
